Biography

I was born and educated in Perth, Western Australia. My high schooling was undertaken at Scotch College, Swanbourne.
I attended medical school at the University of Western Australia.
After completing post graduate studies, training and exit examinations over a 4 year period with the College of Surgeons, I was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic Surgery.
Following this I spent 2 years in the United States of America gaining more experience in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery. This included a 1 year Plastic Surgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Following this, another year was spent at The Cleveland Clinic Florida undertaking a Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship. Time was also spent observing and visiting surgeons in New York, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and Boca Rotan.
I returned to Perth in 1999 and set up a Cosmetic Surgery private practice. As well as my Cosmetic Surgery private practice, I devote part of my week to share the workload of caring for burns patients at Fiona Stanely Hospital. I have been a consultant burn surgeon in Perth since 1999 taking care of the Bali Bombing burns patients and Ashmore Reef burns patients.
I undertake charity / aid work when able in overseas countries such as Vanuatu and Bali.
Australian Medical Association (AMA) WA current chairman and President during 2011 and 2012 .
AMA Federal Councillor ( 2018 to current).
Ongoing Education
I actively engage in ongoing education and maintain a certificate of good standing in this respect with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. This requires specific educational activities and regular attendance at conferences for example. I am also involved in the ongoing training of trainee Plastic Surgeons.
